DAY 9 OF THE RALLY

10/02/2012

Nouadhibou - Nouakchott

After several days of high winds and blinding sandstorms we were forced to forgo Atar and instead head to Nouakchott the special followed last year's course. To extend the range of the motorbikes to cover the 500km distance through some very remote coastal regions the rally team set up a refueling station around the half way mark. Everyone got across the beach safely except for the soaked race director sweeping the course. One notable drop out from the race was Mark Hughes, who's engine rebuild engine suffered another breakdown.

Next the field will do an improvised stage around Nouakchott followed by a transfer to Senegal the day after. The race category is quite even at this point and we still might see some changes in the overall standings.
